British Rule of India

Today we will begin discussing British rule of India by reading Minute by the Hon'ble
T. B. Macaulay and answering the questions (CP p.264-266)

We will then read about the Great Rebellion of 1857
and watch video of The Great Rebellion from PBS Story of India series (p.268-269).

Finally, we will begin reading and analyzing “The White Man’s Burden” (CP p.272)

For homework, read the story “Shooting An Elephant” and answer  the questions.
It might be easier to print the story. You can either hand-write or type your
answers to the questions. The questions are due on Monday.
